Terms of Sale

Last updated: 28 October 2026

These Terms of Sale apply to every purchase of a Bitlane plan. They complete the Terms of Service, which govern the use of the service itself.

"We" and "us" mean the company named in the Terms of Service. Questions about a purchase: support@bitlane.co.

1. Our payment provider

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Polar Software, Inc. (the "Payment Provider"). The Payment Provider is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: it processes the payment, issues the invoice, collects and remits sales tax and VAT, and handles billing questions, refunds and chargebacks. When you buy a plan, you also accept the Payment Provider's terms for buyers, shown at checkout and available at polar.sh/legal.

We never see or store your card details.

2. Plans and prices

Plans, their prices, what each includes (records, search requests, engines, projects, team members and other features) and the prices of usage beyond the plan are shown on our pricing page and in the dashboard before you subscribe.

  • Prices are in euros and, unless stated otherwise, exclude taxes. The Payment Provider adds the VAT or sales tax that applies to your location and tax status at checkout. Business customers in the EU may enter a valid VAT number to apply the reverse charge.
  • Plans are billed monthly or yearly. A yearly plan is paid once a year in advance; its included usage and the usage beyond it are counted and settled every month.
  • Usage beyond the plan (records and search requests above what the plan includes) is not blocked: it is billed per unit, at the plan's unit prices, at the end of each monthly usage period. You can follow your usage at any time on the dashboard's billing page.
  • Some limits are hard limits and are never billed (for example the number of engines, projects or team members): to go beyond them, choose a larger plan.

3. Free trial

New subscriptions start with a free trial, whose length is shown on the pricing page and at checkout (currently one month).

  • During the trial the service is free, including usage beyond what the plan includes.
  • The Payment Provider may ask for a payment method when the trial starts. We email you 3 days before the trial ends.
  • When the trial ends, the subscription becomes paid and the first period is charged, unless you cancelled before.

4. Renewal and payment

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or yearly, until cancelled. The Payment Provider charges the payment method on file at the start of each period, plus the usage beyond the plan of the period that ended.

If a payment fails, the Payment Provider retries it and we let you know in the dashboard. While a payment is overdue we may limit the creation of new resources; if it stays unpaid, the subscription ends as described in section 7.

5. Changing plans

You can switch to another plan, or between monthly and yearly billing, at any time from the dashboard. The change takes effect immediately and the price is prorated: the unused part of the current period is credited toward the new one, and the difference is charged or credited at once.

6. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from the dashboard's billing page (or through the Payment Provider's customer portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period: until then the plan keeps working, and you can resume it. There is no cancellation fee. Usage beyond the plan up to the end of the period is still billed.

7. When a plan ends

When a subscription ends (cancelled, or unpaid), we do not delete your data straight away:

  1. For one month, your engines keep answering searches, so your store or website keeps working while you decide.
  2. After that month, searches are stopped. Your data is kept.
  3. Two months after the plan ended, your projects are scheduled for deletion, and are deleted for good 15 days later.

We email you before each step. Subscribing again at any point before the deletion restores everything as it was.

8. Refunds

The free trial is the time to evaluate Bitlane. For this reason, payments for a paid period, and for usage, are not refundable, in whole or in part, including when you cancel during a period or downgrade to a smaller plan (a downgrade is prorated as credit, section 5).

We will refund, through the Payment Provider:

  • payments charged by mistake, such as a duplicate charge or a charge after a confirmed cancellation;
  • a period, or the part of it, during which the service was unavailable because of a failure on our side, as described in the Terms of Service;
  • where the law requires it.

To ask for a refund, write to support@bitlane.co within 30 days of the payment, with the invoice number. Refunds are paid by the Payment Provider to the original payment method.

Right of withdrawal. Bitlane is sold to businesses and professionals. If you are a consumer in the European Union or another country that grants a right of withdrawal, you have 14 days from the purchase to withdraw. By starting to use a paid plan within that time, you ask us to provide the service straight away and acknowledge that, if you withdraw, you pay for the service provided until then, and that the right of withdrawal ends once the service has been fully provided.

9. Price changes

We may change prices or plan contents. Changes never apply to a billing period already paid. We announce changes that affect an existing subscription by email at least 30 days in advance; if you don't agree, you can cancel before they take effect.

10. Invoices

Invoices are issued by the Payment Provider and are available on the dashboard's billing page and in its customer portal. Make sure your billing details (company name, address, VAT number) are correct at checkout or in the portal: invoices are issued with the details provided.

11. Contact and changes to these terms

For billing questions, write to support@bitlane.co or use the contact form on this site. Questions about a payment can also go to the Payment Provider's support.

We may update these Terms of Sale. The date at the top shows the latest version; changes that matter for an existing subscription are emailed in advance. They are governed by the same law and courts as the Terms of Service.
